Alessia Patisserie & Cafe is where European pastry technique and the delicious ingredients of
the Central Coast come together — all in the easy atmosphere of your favorite neighborhood
The patisserie is the creation of pastry chef Alessia Guehr, born and raised in Santa Barbara.
As the first-generation daughter of two German restaurateurs, Alessia grew up in some of her
home town’s finest kitchens, from Brigitte's to The Nook, before striking out on her own.
She began her own career at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Montecito, working her way up from
summer helper to assistant pastry chef. She also created the fine dining dessert menus at the
Coral Casino, and broke into bread making at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery.
Inspired to pursue her pastry talents further, Alessia served as assistant pastry chef at Le
Marais Bakery in San Francisco, and studied at the Melissa Coppel Chocolate & Pastry School
in Las Vegas, refining her technique with world renowned pastry chefs like Frank Haasnoot and
Daniel Alvarez. After these experiences training in kitchens great and small, she knew she was
ready to bring her distinct craftsmanship home, developing and perfecting new recipes to share
with her hometown.
We are excited to introduce our
Assistant Pastry Chef Jordan. Jordan has had an outstanding career in his early
years as a pastry chef. Coming from a collegiate athlete background, he loves
to be competitive whether that is playing baseball or competing on Food
Network. Jordan has competed on The Food Network and judged on a few shows. His
debut was in 2017 when he competed in the Spring Baking Championship Season 3
and won! He also triumphed in The Holiday Baking Championship “Homecoming
Special” and was a finalist on the first season of Candyland in 2020. Jordan
has built quite a career and a positive reputation as an up-and-coming pastry
chef, while proudly toting his shameless love of country music that keeps him
dancing at work. He has worked hard and diligently in pursuit of perfecting his
craft and we are excited to have him join our team here at Alessia’s Patisserie
